Joshua Studor

Josh is an attorney with the Washington State Attorney General’s Office, Consumer Protection Division, where he leads the office’s charities and nonprofit enforcement team. Though he is not presenting in his role as AAG, the position provides insight into Constitutional (particularly First Amendment) law due to its frequent overlap with charities law. Josh is also a board member of the Seattle Atheists, founder the of the Cedar River Secular Society, and vice president of the National Association of State Charities Officials.

Josh grew up in a Christian fundamentalist home in Texas and, later, Idaho but deconstructed from his credulous world view in college when a philosophy professor challenged his beliefs by simply asking about them. He is now a skeptic and atheist who believes that respectfully challenging faith in all unsupported beliefs is a moral imperative.

Josh, his husband, and their two dogs live in south Seattle. He enjoys writing, home improvement, video games, comics, horror movies, exercising, and drinking a good IPA to counteract the effects of exercising.
